EASF Concludes Communications' Unit's Training for FTX 2017
A one-week Command and Control Communication Information Systems' (C2CIS) training, which started on 9th October came to a close on Friday 13th October 2017 at the EASF Secretariat in Karen, Nairobi.
The training is part of a more comprehensive set of activities which have been designed to equip the communications' docket with ample skills and best practices enabling the personnel to support the upcoming Field Training Exercise (FTX) scheduled to take place in November/December 2017 in Port Sudan, in the Republic of the Sudan.
In course of the coming few weeks, EASF will receive some state of the art communications' equipment which has been procured with the financial support of the Government of the Kingdom of Denmark. The equipment can adequately support any EASF's Forward Force and Mission Headquarters, together with operations' sectors which could be located far away from the Mission Headquarters. Reliable communications' infrastructure is key to the success of any mission or exercise.
The training's target audience was EASF's Communications Cell and Kenya Defence Forces' (KDF) Signals' Squadron. The Unit has been working with the regional peacekeeper in matters of communication over the last couple of years.
