Eastern Africa Standby Force (EASF) organized the African Union Military Experts on Mission (AUMEOM) Syllabus Review Workshop, which began on October 21, 2024 and concluded on October 25, 2024, at the International Peace Support Training Center in Karen, Nairobi. The workshop aimed at evaluating the existing AUMEOM syllabus, identify gaps, and develop a comprehensive training curriculum to effectively address the needs of AU/EASF peace support operations.

 

AUMEOM Syllabus Review Workshop was officially opened by Brigadier General Stephen Kashure, EASF Joint Chief of Staff, who welcomed participants on behalf of the Director. He expressed gratitude to the African Union and EASF Member States for their ongoing support and emphasized the significance of the workshop's outcomes for AU/EASF peace support missions. Brig Gen Kashure also acknowledged the Republic of Kenya and the IPSTC for hosting the event.

Attendees include military subject matter experts from six EASF Member States: Burundi, Comoros, Ethiopia, Kenya, Rwanda, and Somalia. The workshop is supported by the African Union through the African Peace and Security Architecture (APSA) Support Program.
