EASF Condemns Terror Attacks in Mogadishu
The entire Eastern African Standby Force fraternity strongly condemns the heinous act of terrorism committed against innocent human beings at the Ex-Control Afgoye Checkpoint on the outskirts of Mogadishu, Somalia on 28th December 2019.
We offer our most heartfelt condolences to all the families and friends of those killed in the attack and a speedy recovery to the injured. EASF joins the rest of the region and the world in offering our support and solidarity to the Somalia Government and its people in this difficult hour.
Peace and security in the region are of utmost importance to EASF and today, in the midst of this unfortunate event, we once again call upon everyone to denounce all forms of violence and conflict and to promote peace and security in our region.
We commend the swift response of law enforcement, national security, medical teams as well as the general public in helping those injured in the cowardly attack.
Somalia is one of the ten Member States that make up the Eastern African Standby Force.
